Well finally it's there....after a while of serious shooting, it's great to have such a new app for my Smartphone and I like it a lot!!
1 year and a half ago instagram showed up for iPhone. this app was growing so fast and it was so easy to make photos and share them, that the makers decided to develop it for Android too. which is a great decision I think :-)
Where does this succes coming from? it's probably something to do with the fact how it works, how easy it is. you just make a picture, choose a filter - most filters are really capable of showing of the Retro atmosphere of the late 70's and 80's. Then you can just put it online. no hours of photoshop after the photo. just snap and show.
Just like on twitter, people can follow you on the instagram website, you can like photos from others and give comments. a cup of Tea, Picnic shots in the forest, landscapes, parties, vacationshots......you can name it. some people are extreme active with it and do have thousands of followers already.
Ofcourse the iPhone and Android smartphone don't use DSLR cameras who makes professional photos. but it's soooo much fun to do and has the freedom of keeping it in your purse when you don't need your cam, ofcourse it's interesting to buy yourself a good quality smartphone if you can't afford yourself an iPhone - I use the "Samsung Galaxy W" which I find incredible with instagram. it was an affordable choice since the Galaxy S2 is too expensive for me.
The Instagram filters give the users the feeling they are making great artistic retro shots and that is what they are doing.
Instagram was actually a Polaroid One Step 1000 rainbow camera. nothing serious back in those days, just something to play with like instagram on mobile these days. the only difference is that you don't have a photo developing in your hands, like with polaroid back in the 80's.
Maybe that's the reason why the app had already more than 10 million users back in september with iPhone. although there are some people who find it crap or just too easy......which I do not agree. it's an expression of how you feel, live your life and see the things around you. for me it's Art.
Anyway, the app is there for Android too since april 2012. I know many people were waiting for it and finally it's released. I know that Android users will use it as their main camera. why shouldn't they? I will use it all the time too when i'm on the road, it's sooooo easy hehe.
If you have an Android phone, what the hell are you waiting for??
